Doesn't appear to be working. Have rebooted the test host, but will just restarting the management agents pick it up as well?
I'm simply pulling the iSCSI network connections out of the back of the test host at the moment and can't seem to generate a PDL condition. I don't want to pull a SAN down while people are using it, APD is picked up ok. Running a tail on vmkernel.log only shows an APD condition, halts I/O on the VMs when it times out as per the misc.APD setting, then gets to a point where it just stops and waits. Doesn't appear to even try to pull the VM down.
The test VM is simply a basic Win 2008R2 server. All hosts just updated to ESXi 5.1 Update 1, vCenter on Update 1a, VMTools updated on everything. All clusters have misc.ADP is enabled, and misc.APD timeout is set to 30 seconds, tried 20 but made no difference.
What am I missing here? How long should I wait before the VM is shut down? Like many scenarios we didn't know this needed setting until it needed setting.
